University of Education Winneba, Ghana (UEW), while
building on existing and past OVF efforts. |

How
our Programs and Projects Come Together |
|
oneVillage
Foundation Initiative is the central initiative
that links all the programs and projects of OVF together
as part of a multisectorial /integrated /whole systems
approach to sustainable development. The methodology
behind this program is a Asset
Based Community Development (ABCD) model
that emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach
to community building that includes key human components.
Integrated
Knowledge Wheel (Mandala) is used to help
evaluate local needs and assets based on each sector
or pillar of the IKW.
The Multipurpose
Community & Unity Center (UCs) is
our capstone project and as such it will eventually
house the projects mentioned below as it evolves into
a fully fledged ecovillage. UCs are envisioned as working
models of an integrated approach to sustainable development.
When fully developed each Center will be a model of
self-sustainability and self-reliance.
UCs will provide experiential hands-on experiences,
as part of a proactive and whole systems platform to
promote sustainable development in Africa…and beyond.
The Centre will promote social enterprise solutions
that integrate ICT with sustainable development in both
developing and developed regions of the world. We are
now planning to set up these centers in each of the
three countries we now operate in by the end of 2008.
