OVF USA Mission
While our focus is on Africa we are developing a new development approach that we refer to as Silicon Valley Transformation. This involves working towards the development of a integrated global network that is designed to benefit all of humanity.
OVF Focus
OVF activities have focused on tapping into the power of Silicon Valley as a nexus for ideas in relation to ICT and also because of its wealth. Various non profits as well as social venture funds are now warming to social enterprises, organizations that are designed as hybrids of for-profit and non-profit institutions. We are developing a social enterprise network that helps people to incubate their ideas into businesses that can do well financially while making the world a better place for all of us to live. The knowledge bases we are developing embrace the world urgent issues as opportunities, offering "elegant solutions" to these "problems."
OVF USA Role in Promoting New Sustainable Development Model
One of the roles of OVF USA is to integrate the most promising ICT from Silicon Valley into package that is designed specially for non-affluent regions and to assist our partner networks in emerging markets in this process of leapfrogging existing technologies and approaches and to come together to rapidly build a sustainable world.
In this program Multi-purpose Community & Unity Centers will be demo sites that will showcase holistic ICT combining this other and relevant technologies and methods to promote an eco living living approach that improves human capacity and quality of life. |

Tang previously a Cisco Fellow has been
engaging in a process of building community
over the last several years. Core to this process
has been the building of the oneVillage
Eco-Partner network. This is the result
of several years of travel and research. One
of her goals has been to create a central space
where people can gather and create community,
as represented in the Unity Center concept,
which evolved from what she learned about Ojishe
Houses in Nigeria. Read more
